With less than ten minutes to pitch their product, invention or idea, the new technology panel is always a popular slot in the ILMC conference schedule. Our resident tech adviser Steve Machin hosts the session, which previews some of the most innovative emerging solutions coming to market. From the latest mobile possibilities, to that production wizardry you never knew existed, for a preview of some of the latest technology set to impact the business over the next twelve months, it’s a session you can’t afford to miss.

FESTICKET is the world's largest platform for discovering and booking festival trips. Founded in 2012 by Zack Sabban and Jonathan Younes, the company is backed by a range of investors including Beringea, Edge, Lepe Partners, ProFounders and InMotion Venture, and in 2019 completed the acquisition of multi-award winning Leeds (UK)-based ticketing and cashless POS platform Event Genius, and the related Ticket Arena consumer website and brand.

The new joint venture, Event Genius by Festicket, creates an end-to-end platform for organisers and fans alike, providing the most complete offering in the live entertainment industry. The platform brings together technology and expertise including POS and cashless payment services, ticketing, accommodation, travel & packages, marketing, data insights & analytics, access control, fan engagement tools and more, to plug a gap in the market that no other organisation has addressed to date.

Together, the company works closely with over 4,000 official festival and event partners including Coachella, Tomorrowland, BST Hyde Park, Ibiza Rocks, Rolling Loud, Motion Bristol and Wales Rally GB, serving a growing community of over 5 million customers.

Festicket was named in the Financial Times 1000 in 2019, is a Tech Nation Future Fifty member and also made Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 list in 2019. 

Alongside its London HQ, Festicket has offices in Leeds, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Berlin, Porto and Nantes.

GIGMIT is Europe’s large platform for live music bookings. The idea to simplify the booking process for promoters and musicians was born from the founder’s own experience. Since 2017, MIRO SHOT have been performing live immersive concerts in venues, warehouses, art galleries and cinemas around the world, powered by their bespoke Mixed Reality app. The first band to play concerts of this kind, they quickly attracted the interest of record companies and investors, eventually signing to Believe Recordings / Warp Publishing and Paradigm Talent Agency.

In 2018, they launched Mirocolabs, a startup focused on providing the platform they had created for other artists, institutions and brands. In a live music, immersive cinema performance - described by Forbes as “the future of live music” for their recent IFF show, and “Impressively ahead” by the BBC - Mirocolabs harness the excitement of a concert with the power of AR/VR, in an augmented live experience that is much more than a simple 360 video of an artist.

Created by musicians and music industry professionals, their platform was built to be toured as a live music LBVR as well as an at-home experience. After a run of sold-out shows in Paris, London, Amsterdam, and Hamburg, the project will be the first mixed-reality live concert to showcase at SXSW, pushing the boundaries of what is possible with music, performance and technology, in an experience that is part concert, part film and part live multiplayer VR experience.

PEEX is a new and revolutionary live music tech startup that allows concertgoers to experience live music like never before. Its patented and ground-breaking technology allows concertgoers to customise and personalise their live music experience - via augmented audio reality.  

Its PEEX LIVE experience enables music fans to create their own enhanced five-channel mix of the live concert sound, whilst remaining truly immersed in the energy of the performance via its wearable technology, the PEEX rX, and easy-to-use app. The PEEX LIVE experience allows fans to experience the highest quality audio wherever they are in the venue and create their own perfect mix of the live concert sound - in real time.

TICKETSCLOUD is a ticketing ecosystem providing a full spectrum of services for managing ticket sales for events, ranging from small-sized events to large festivals. 

More than 250,000 tickets are sold monthly via Ticketscloud's ticketing system, with 2,000 active organisers regularly using the system.

Their new product - Ticketswallet - has recently garnered much attention in the Russian (CIS) promoters industry, with the mobile application enabling organisers to control secondary ticketing (and earn from it) whilst providing fans with a new level of security and a better consumer experience.

Having launched in Q3 2019, Ticketswallet has so far sold more than 30,000 smart tickets for more than 100 events, most of which were festivals.
