GEI Breakout Session: The Butterfly Effect of Change – Packaging, Water & Sanitation
Hosts: Jane Healy, Glastonbury Festival / Healy Productions (UK) & Jack Beerens, MSS International (NL)
When making changes in order to create greener more sustainable events – as any good snooker player knows – it is important to think a few shots ahead. When one part of a system is altered, it’s necessary to consider how that might affect the rest of the system. Perhaps there are additional provisions or alterations that need to be considered, or departments to consult. From water supply for refills, to sanitation for reusables, this session will illustrate the importance of anticipating knock-on effect, with a few examples of how new “green” solutions have exposed further requirements for adaptation.
