Alex Hill, AEG Europe
Alex Hill is president of AEG Europe. In this role, Alex is responsible for overseeing all activity and business units of AEG throughout Europe, which is split into the following divisions; AEG Presents, AEG Global Partnerships, AEG Real Estate, AEG Facilities and AEG Sport. This activity includes 20 music, sport and entertainment venues; a number of festivals including the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park concert series; sports franchises such as German ice hockey club Eisbären Berlin and Stockholm’s Hammarby Sports Association; entertainment districts The O2 in London and Mercedes Platz in Berlin; and more diverse businesses such as MBNA Thames Clippers, the London river boat service.
Alex previously served as COO of AEG Europe for six years and as its CFO for seven years prior to that. During this time, he was responsible for helping to drive the company’s commercial growth across nine European markets, delivering operational efficiencies across its portfolio of assets and exploring expansion opportunities.
Before joining AEG, Alex was deputy CFO at FremantleMedia Group - one of the largest content creators in the world. Alex’s first career role was at KPMG where he worked in the information, communications and entertainment sector, qualifying as a chartered accountant. One of his clients was Flextech Television - one of the pioneering companies in the UK cable and satellite TV market - which he subsequently joined in 1998 and worked at for six years. During that time, Alex became finance director and worked on the acquisition of the company by Telewest and was a board member of UKTV, its joint venture with the BBC.
